They say necessity is the mother of invention, so, as a contractor back in the early nineties, I developed the Shingle Shear for my own needs as shingles got thicker and more difficult to cut. It worked well but I continued to make improvements and add features to make cutting shingles fast, easy and accurate.
I loaned the Shingle Shear out to other contractor friends who liked the tool and encouraged me to put it on the market.
Well, to make a long story short, with God’s help, we were able to start Howard Tools and successfully launch the Shingle Shear.
Now, 20 years later, we are still the fastest, most convenient cutter on the market. We have set the standard that others are trying to copy, but don’t be fooled—it has to say Shingle Shear to be a cut above!
Our product is proudly made in the USA and we are committed to keeping that tradition. Our goal is not to build the cheapest shingle cutter, but to build the best.
